Behind the Scenes: chaos, Christmas and Kickstarter
This week in the Holistic at Home 'studio' has been equal parts cozy and chaotic (the best mix, right?). Between being knee-deep in apples (recipes coming soon, promise! 😂) and testing out new designs, here’s what we’ve been up to:
🖨️ Printed goodies - Our recipe cards, stitch guides, and other pages are being tested, so everything feels just right before it lands with you.
🎄 Christmas kits – We’ve been working on something a little different: Christmas cards with a crafty twist. Priced at under a fiver, they’ll sit right alongside other artisan cards — but instead of just a piece of paper in an envelope, you’ll also get a mini making kit tucked inside. Stocking filler meets handmade keepsake.
📸 Card designs – Using Bob’s beautiful wildlife photography as the base, we’ve been adding a cheeky Holistic at Home spin to bring them to life. (Sneaky preview below 👀).
🚀 Kickstarter prep – We’re still pulling everything together to make the launch as smooth as possible. Thanks for bearing with us while we get the foundations right — we promise it’s worth the wait!
Okay, so, you might be asking what is kickstarter? We’ve had lots of questions about this, so here’s the simple version:
Kickstarter is a platform where creative projects (like ours!) get funded by the community. Instead of a normal shop where you buy a product that’s already made, you back a project to help bring it to life.
- You choose a reward tier (like our Founder Box)
- Your pledge helps us cover the costs of production
- Once the project hits its funding goal, we go ahead and make everything — and you receive your reward.
It’s a way of supporting something from the very beginning, and it means you’re part of the journey, not just the end result.
Why Kickstarter?
For us, Kickstarter isn’t just a launch platform, it’s a community. We chose it because:
- It makes the Founder Box extra special — exclusive kits, treats, and collaborations you won’t see again.
- It lets us start sustainably, covering the first run properly instead of cutting corners.
- And most importantly, it means you’re involved from day one. You’re not just buying a box, you’re helping to shape the whole cozy chaos journey.
✨ What’s coming up in Makers Corner next?
Next week you’ll get a full Meet the Maker interrogation with Bob from Picture This (you’ve already seen his stunning wildlife prints — now you’ll get the stories behind them).
And the week after? We’ll have some big updates to share, including:
- ✅ Christmas kits finalised
- ✅ Another printable project to add to your cozy chaos collection (after the planner + colouring page, we’re starting to build quite the little library!)
- ✅ Kickstarter sign-up page live and ready to follow!
Phew, you made it to the end!
